Plots are distributed in three areas: the municipality of Dano, the regional reserve of Bontioli, and the national reserve of Nazinga. Measurements were made with HOBO Onset U23-001 Pro V2 data loggers placed inside protective cages 1 meter above ground. In every experimental plots, loggers were positioned under tree shade and the cages featuring a reflective roof provided additional protection against direct sun light. Measurements were made every 15 minutes from November 2014 to November 2017. Data was collected monthly with the help of a data transfer device (shuttle HOBO U-DTW-1). This data was collected to analyze regulation effects of the vegetation cover in savannas on the microclimate. Hermann Hien (WASCAL assistant in Dano) for the data collection. Isolated measurement error, indicated by sudden spike in microclimate variable were replaced by missing values. The normal distribution of the data also allowed the removal of extreme values (temperature below 8°C and above 46°C, relative humidity below 2%).
