Location of settlements in West Africa in identified irrigable off-grid areas in 2018, that could still be in off-grid areas in 2023 according to the least-cost analysis conducted in the framework of the off-grid solar market assessment and private sector support facility design, which was done as an activity of the sub-component 1A of the Regional Off-Grid Electrification Project (ROGEP).

Time series for agricultural production statistics at sub-national level come with heterogeneous definitions for agric.production activities and with changing administrative units over time. Also, the availability of data is usually better for higher administrative levels (e.g. regions are better covered than districts). To generate consolidated time-series, it was necessary to define a harmonized classification for statistical units (WASU), which combines official admin units into comparable and time-invariant groups. Available information for all levels was fed into a consolidation process that ensured consistency across admin levels and accounted for obvious outliers(e.g.yields 10 times larger that in other years or comparable regions).

This data evaluates the level of sustainability of CBM utilization and how it can be harnessed addressing the climate concerns related to GHG emissions in Zimbabwe. The first step was to assess its sustainability by carrying out a technical performance analysis using a hybrid Multi-Criteria Analysis incorporating the AHP and TOPSIS technique. Thus CBM production for electricity was ranked against other Energy technologies indigenous to Zimbabwe

The dataset comprises both primary and secondary data collected in the Wa Municipality of Ghana between April and June 2019. It comprises interview data from thirteen institutions involved in sustainable energy issues in the Municipality, two Focus Group Discussions in local communities that benefited from sustainable energy projects and eight policy and planning documents related to energy policy and decentralised planning at the local level in Ghana. Specifically, the data is centred on actor involvement in sustainable energy initiatives at the local government level, the institutional capacity of local government units responsible for planning and, how planning guidelines and national policy frameworks affect local government involvement in sustainable planning and implementation. Data were analysed using ATLAS.ti and the NetDRAW component of UNCINET 6 software. The files contained in this dataset are, thus, saved in ATLAS.ti (.atlproj) and UCINET (##h) file formats.

Crop production statistics at sub-national level are provided by national and international organisations at different levels of detail. The downloadable file is a combination of many sources with the aim to generate long time series for homogeneous crops. The crop classifications follow the WAGR nomenclature for crops provided by the same author. In general, the statistics were created as follows: 1. National Statistical Organisations, if not available then 2. FAO CountryStat, if not available then 3. FAO AgroMaps The National Statistical Organisations who provided agricultural production statistics were: Ghana: Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MOFA) Burkina Faso: STATISTIQUES AGRICOLES AU BURKINA FASO (AGRISTAT) Benin: Ministère de l’Agriculture de l’Elevage et de la Pêche (MAEP)
